Hate to fly but love to travel?

If you’ve got 12 weeks to spare, an Australian company is offering bus trips between Sydney and London.

The Oz Bus recently launched the overland trips which take travelers through 20 countries from East Timor to France, with ferries used when necessary.

“All that we require of you is that you have an adventurous spirit, a strong sense of fun and a longing to see the world as it really is,” the company says on its Web site http://www.oz-bus.com/.

The company’s founder Mark Creasey says the journey, which costs 3,750 pounds ($7,500) or A$9,355, is an environmentally friendly way to cross the globe.

Travelers will camp in designated sites and in the bush for most of the journey, staying in small hotels and guest houses when in cities or in areas where the weather does not permit sleeping outdoors.

Food while camping, but not in hotels, is included in the price and travellers can expect three meals a day from fresh ingredients purchased at local markets, but they have to share in the campsite duties such as cooking and setting up tents.

The fully booked maiden voyage set off from London to Sydney on Sunday, with several others scheduled within the next year.
