Hawaii Superferry to start service on Dec 1
On November 16 Hawaii Superferry announced that it will be commencing service
between O‘ahu and Maui on December 1 with an inaugural $29 one-way fare.
The $29 one-way passenger fare will be good for all voyages between O‘ahu and Maui December 1 through December 20, 2007.
The restart of service has been made possible by court rulings that call for modifications to service while an environmental study on its impact is being conducted. For the moment service to Kauai remains suspended.
Beginning December 21 and through March 12, 2008 one-way passenger fares will be $39. Infants up to 2 years old will be able to ride for free from December 1 through March 12, 2008.
“We appreciate the support we’ve received from everyone who shares the
vision of uniting our islands and families by sea,” said Hawaii Superferry President
and CEO, John Garibaldi. “Hawaii Superferry and its more than 300 employees
look forward to a new beginning as we start our voyages between O‘ahu and
Maui, a new choice for inter-island travel. ”
The special inaugural fares are available only on an advance-purchase basis
and reservations must be made online through www.HawaiiSuperferry.com or through the call center at 1-877-HI-FERRY (877-443-3779). The call center is open daily from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. HST.
