Hawaiian Airlines CEO Dunkerley stepping down
Hawaiian Airlines’ longtime CEO Mark Dunkerley will step down next year.
Dunkerley plans to retire after 15 years at the helm as president and chief executive officer effective March 1, 2018.
Current executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Peter Ingram replaces Dunkerley in the top job.
"This has been a heart-wrenching decision. I am so proud to be associated with this company and our employees. Hawaiian Airlines is truly in a class of its own, distinguished by all the employees I am honored to call my colleagues," Dunkerley said.
Since Dunkerley took over, the airline has doubled the number of passengers and seen revenue quadruple, the company said.
Ingram joined Hawaiian as CFO in December 2005 and in 2011 became chief commercial officer, responsible for marketing and sales, revenue management and network planning, loyalty and cargo operations.
"Mark has been an inspirational leader for our company and mentor to me and many others and I will be proud to continue pursuing the strategy for growth and success that we have been following for the last several years," Ingram said.
