Hawaiian Airlines to codeshare with Japan Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines has sealed a comprehensive codesharing agreement with Japan Airlines which will also see reciprocal lounge access and loyalty perks for customers.
The partnership comes into effect on March 25, 2018 and will be a first move to establishing a Hawaii-Japan joint venture.
"We are delighted to partner with Japan Airlines for our long-term future in Japan. JAL embodies the welcoming culture of Japan and is renowned for the quality of its services. Our partnership will greatly increase travel choices," said Hawaiian CEO Mark Dunkerley.
JAL customers can book through ticketing on Hawaiian’s Japan-Hawaii routes, including non-stop flights between Sapporo and Honolulu, and across its Hawaiian Islands network.
Hawaiian Airlines passengers will in turn have access to JAL’s full domestic network which can be booked as a single itinerary via Honolulu.
Hawaiian’s Japan-to-Hawaii flights will also be included as new flight options with Japan Airlines’ package tour operator JALPAK.
JAL Mileage Bank and HawaiianMiles members will be able to earn miles on the codeshare flights, and gain entry to both airlines’ airport lounges.
"Hawaiian Airlines is well known among Japanese for its warm hospitality and its excellent record for punctuality and safety," said Yoshiharu Ueki, president of Japan Airlines.
"We look forward to providing our passengers with additional options of exceptional service and comfortable travel to and throughout the Hawaiian Islands."
