Hawaiian turns up the heat

SYDNEY – Hawaiian Airlines has stepped up airfare competition between Australia and the US mainland, extending and expanding its “Hula Your Way to the USA” fares to 10 mainland destinations, via Honolulu.

The latest range of Hula fares, which start at $1325 per person, including tax, enable passengers to fly from Sydney to their choice of Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, San Jose, Seattle and Sacramento, plus the three new options of Oakland, Portland and Phoenix.

“Australians planning to visit the USA can enter the mainland through one city, fly home from another, and stop in Hawaii as well,” said Sherilyn Robinson, Hawaiian Airlines sales and marketing manager Australia.

The “Hula Your Way to the USA” fares, in Economy Class, include taxes, plus meals, drinks and mainscreen entertainment on Hawaiian’s flights between Sydney and Honolulu.

Hawaiian also offers every passenger a free luggage allowance of two checked items, each weighing up to 32 kilograms.

In addition to fares from Sydney, Hawaiian – in conjunction with domestic airline partners – offers Hula fares to travellers from 19 other destinations around Australia:

The “Hula Your Way to the USA” fares are available for departures from now until 24 September, from 07 October until16 December, and again from 13 January until 31 March 2010.

All travel must be booked and paid for by 18 September.

Hawaiian Airlines has also extended its “Bonus Island” airfare offer, in which passengers buying a Hawaiian fare to Honolulu can continue to one of three neighbouring islands for the price of the local airport taxes.

Hawaiian’s new fares from Sydney to Honolulu are $1109 per person including taxes, or from Sydney to a choice of the Islands of Maui, Kauai or The Big Island of Hawaii for just $1115 at today’s tax level.
