Heavy fog causes flight disruption
Passengers flying out of London are being advised to check the status of their flight before travelling to the airport, amid the possibility of more disruption caused by fog.
London City airport diverted inbound flights on Saturday and Heathrow and Gatwick also reported disruption throughout the weekend.
The Met Office issued a severe weather alert saying the fog would last into this morning.
Today, Heathrow tweeted: "We are still affected by adverse weather. Foggy conditions are affecting flights today. Please check the status of your flight with your airline before travelling to the airport."
Gatwick said: "Heavy fog is causing disruption to flights leading to delays and cancellations. Please check our flight information for live status updates or directly with your airline."
London City Airport advised: "Adverse weather continues to improve here at LCY however delays may occur, passengers are advised to contact airline for further flight info."
British Airways said: "Fog across parts of southern England affected some flights to and from London’s airports on Sunday.
"It is also expected that poor visibility could affect some flights on Monday and customers are advised to check the status of their flight."
