Help Wanted: $100,000 plus a trip around the world
Want to see the world instead of just recommending it?
If a $100,000 salary and an all-expense-paid world tour would get you out from behind your desk for a year, consider applying for "the best job around the world," Chief World Explorer for travel website Jauntaroo.
The job will take the winning applicant around the globe, all expenses paid, including everywhere from Berlin to Calistoga, Costa Navarino to the Maldives.
The winner will be expected to post blogs describing his or her adventures, from mud baths to a safari, and participate in "VolunTourism" activities to benefit local communities.
Applications, including a 60-second video explaining why they should win, must be filed by September 15.
Jauntaroo bills itself as a "vacation matchmaker" that also emphasizes giving back to the community. It donates $1 for each booking made through its site to "Travel With A Cause," its philanthropic initiative supporting nonprofit organizations dedicated to education, health and well-being.
Now, in seeking and promoting its hire of a community and environmentally-minded Explorer, the company is stepping up its efforts to make giving back a consideration for world travelers.
Jauntaroo will choose the top 50 candidates, and bring the Final Five to its headquarters for in-person interviews.
