Scandinavia’s biggest hotel, set to open next month, is to dedicate an entire floor to women travellers.
The four-star Bella Sky Comwell, which sits within the giant conference space The Bella Center in Copenhagen, employed a female focus group to consult on the design of the Bella Donna floor.
The floor will only be accessible with women’s keycards.
Women surveyed by the hotel said there were three reasons why they would prefer a floor dedicated to their sex – security, the feeling that the room is more hygienic because a women, not a man, stayed there before and they prefer rooms specifically designed for their needs.
And their needs are? A decent bathroom, a bathtub, extra large shower head, good hairdryer and a mirror that magnifies for make-up application.
Women also demand free wifi, lighting that’s easy to fathom, Ipod docking stations, a full length mirror, some good magazines, fresh plants and a cosy pair of slippers.
What’s more, they told the hotel group that they’d like somewhere in the hotel to buy tights and emergency kits of lip gloss, eye shadow and mascara.
Travelmole loves a woman who knows what she wants in life.
