Hilton Australia still the best…………..
A www.news.com.au article says that the Australian branch of the Hilton Hotel chain has been voted the best hotel in Asia for the third year in a row, by Asia Pacific’s business travellers.
The hotel Group was also named Number 1 Asia Pacific Hotel Brand and Asia Pacific’s Leading Hotel Choice in a poll of 1,450, during the 2007 BDRC Asia Pacific Hotel Business Guest Survey.
More than 255 Australian business travellers took park in the survey, which saw the Hilton Group voted ahead of 50 of the world’s leading hotels.
“This is an extraordinary result for our brand as it reflects what our most critical customer base, the frequent business traveller, is thinking,” said Koos Klein, Hilton Hotel’s Asia Pacific President.
“It also shows that we are continuing to deliver against the key attributes valued in a hotel stay such as comfortable rooms, friendly service, quality food and beverage offerings and value for price paid.”
Mr Klein was especially delighted with Hilton’s performance in Australia, where the hotel retained the highest brand ranking in each of the last three years, despite strong international competition.
“It indicates that the millions of dollars of infrastructural investment injected into our Australian portfolio over the past four years as well as our drive for service excellence have kept us relevant to our core market,” said Mr Klein.
The survey measured brand performance against overall scores for prompted and unprompted awareness, usage of a brand, preferred choice and loyalty ratios.
Hilton scored highest in terms of unaided brand recall – 51 per cent in Australia – as well as the highest usage among business travellers – 34 per cent.
Hilton Hotel’s loyalty membership program, Hilton HHonors, retained its top position, with just under 6 per cent of all Asia Pacific business travellers claiming to be members.
The survey also found that the Hilton website remained the most visited and most booked hotel website. Some 81 per cent of all Australian business travellers had made a hotel reservation online, compared with 47 per cent region wide.
Of the 255 travellers polled in Australia, 67 per cent were male, 33 per cent female and the average age was 41 years.
Hong Kong, USA, and Singapore were the three top international destinations, with respondents spending an average $155 per night on hotels abroad compared with $141 domestically.
