Hilton: It’s about time
The Hilton Family of Hotels is getting new clocks with what the chain calls the “easiest-to-set alarms’ ever introduced.
Nearly 250,000 new clocks are being phased in to all existing and newly opened Hiltons, Doubletrees, Embassy Suites Hotels, Hampton Hotels, Hilton Garden Inns, Hilton Grand Vacations Club and Homewood Suites by Hilton.
The chain made the move after a survey that found only 18% of guests trusted a hotel alarm clock.
The new time pieces will also have a connection cable for MP3 players and other portable music devices. Hilton added that component after research found consumers prefer to maintain their music lifestyles while on the road.
If anyone wonders what happens to the old clocks, Hilton says it is donating them to local communities through a program administered by Gifts in King International, a public charity.
