Hilton to add more luxury
Hilton Hotels Corporation, Hilton International Co. and Conrad Hotels announced what they called a “major initiative:” the goal of adding up to 50 luxury hotels by 2010.
That would make Hilton one of the largest luxury hotel brands in the world, the company said.
Hilton also announced the initiative would be led by 30-year hotel industry veteran Dieter Huckestein, chairman and CEO of Conrad Hotels and president of Hilton Global Alliance.
“As it has been in the past, growth of the Conrad brand will come through securing management contracts,” the hotel chain said.
Plans for new Conrad Hotels, both in major US cities and other areas around the world, are in various stages of discussions.
Said Stephen F. Bollenbach, Hilton Hotels Corporation co-chairman and CEO:
“This move represents our commitment to building on the outstanding reputation Conrad Hotels have achieved for the finest service and accommodations, and competing aggressively in the luxury market worldwide.”
