HK government urged to scrap Singapore travel bubble plan
Hong Kong lawmakers urged the government to scrap plans for a long delayed travel bubble with Singapore. They say Singapore’s new strategy will eventually mean it has to live with minimal Covid cases rather than trying to wipe the virus out.
The lawmakers said Hong Kong should continue to push for zero local Covid-19 infections and quarantine-free travel should not be permitted from places that do not have the same ‘Covid zero’ goals.
Singapore has said it will also eventually stop making public the daily number of new Covid cases.
