Hogan to quit Gulf Air
Gulf Air chief executive James Hogan is to stand down at the end of the year.
The carrier is to appoint and new president and chief executive prior to Hogan’s departure.
He is to leave following completion of a turnaround programme and the implementation of a new strategic plan.
Hogan joined Gulf Air four years ago, returning the carrier into profit in 2004 under the ‘Project Falcon’ turnaround programme which also saw the airline being rebranded.
Hogan said: “With Project Falcon completed and all the major elements of the new strategy in place or under way, my work has been completed and it is on this basis that I made my decision to move on to new challenges.”
Gulf Air board chairman Abdul Aziz Jassim Kanoo said: “Gulf Air continues to face the challenges of a competitive market environment and it will be another challenging year for the airline following losses in 2005.”
