Holiday flight diverted due to false alarm
A holiday flight from Athens diverted to Mallorca because the pilot was suspicious about one of the passengers.
The pilot made an urgent request to land because of a terrorist threat and a bomb squad met the aircraft when it landed at Son Sant Joan airport.
All passengers on the flight, which was originally heading to Madrid, were searched for several hours.
However, the reason for the diversion and the pilot’s suspicions have not been released.
Reports suggest the pilot detected some sort of incident or concern regarding someone onboard the Aegean Airlines’ flight.
A spokesman for the Spanish Civil Guard later said that it had been a false alarm.
