Holidaymaker killed in Brittany by World War II bomb
In investigation is still underway in France after a holidaymaker was killed and his friend was seriously injured in a bomb blast on a beach on an island off the coast of Brittany.
French radio station France Bleu suggested an unexploded World War II bomb had been washed ashore on the island of Groix and detonated in the early hours of Sunday morning while campers were asleep.
A 26-year-old man, who was part of a group of nine, was killed and a 25-year-old man was airlifted to Nantes hospital.
Other members of the party were taken to hospital in nearby Lorient to be treated for shock.
Police say a metal object believed to be a piece of ammunition from WWII was found.
