The number of candidates placed in new travel jobs dipped in June, but remained at historically high levels, according to data from C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment.

Despite falling by 28% from May’s record figure, June still saw the fifth highest number of placements in the past four years

Last month’s figure was up by 271% from June 2021, and up by 47% from June 2019.

The number of new candidates registering for travel jobs dipped in June by 7%, but it was still up by 13% compared to the same month last year.

June 2022’s total was also up by 23% per cent from June 2019.

After an extremely busy first five months of the year, the number of travel job vacancies has dipped to its lowest level of 2022 so far.

However, numbers remained comparable to previous Junes, with June 2022 up by 72% compared to June 2021.

Barbara Kolosinska, Managing Director at C&M Travel Recruitment and C&M Executive Recruitment, said: “June may not have quite matched the volumes that we saw in May, but it was still an extremely busy month for travel recruitment. Simply put, the last few months have been some of the busiest we’ve ever seen”.

“Things are likely to cool down over the next two months as we all get distracted by long overdue summer holidays.”
