Hong Kong Airlines taking flight to the Maldives

Hong Kong Airlines will wing its way to Male, Maldives in the New Year.

From January, 16, 2018 the airline will begin flying three times a week using two-class Airbus A330-300 jets.

The aircraft feature 32 full-flat seats in Business Class and 260 Economy Class seats.

"The Maldives represents the perfect getaway for a growing number of travellers. Hong Kong Airlines is looking to meet demand, as we strive to provide customers from Hong Kong and beyond with more choices than before," said Wayne Wang, assistant director of commercial at Hong Kong Airlines.

The six-hour flight departs Hong Kong every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Tourism to the Maldives grew 5.9% during the first eight months of 2017, according to Maldives ministry of tourism data.
