Hong Kong bans Indian airlines again over Covid positive passengers
Hong Kong has yet again handed down a temporary ban to an Indian airline.
This time two Indian carriers have been barred from flying to Hong Kong for two weeks.
Air India and Vistara are no longer allowed to operate inbound flights to HK until 30 October.
This is the third time in just a few months.
Authorities said multiple passengers who took flights from India tested positive in Hong Kong.
All incoming passengers in Hong Kong should have a Covid-19 negative result or should be refused travel..
This hasn’t always been the case, while Hong Kong has also blamed the poor quality of some testing labs in India.
Previous flight bans were imposed in August and in September.
"A few passengers who travelled on Delhi-Hong Kong flight of Air India and Chennai-Hong Kong flight of Vistara tested positive for Covid-19 post arrival," a senior HK government official said.
