Hope remains for Singapore-HK air travel bubble
The Singapore-Hong Kong air travel bubble could still happen, says Singapore Transport Minister Ong Ye Kung. There was recent news officials from both sides had resumed talks about the travel bubble which was postponed at the last minute in November. That was due to a localised Covid outbreak in Hong Kong.
There is no new launch date planned yet but talks are still taking place Ong said. He said there will be ‘a few tweaks, a few proposals to tighten it.’ Both cities rely on their air hub status for business and leisure travel and neither has a domestic air market, leaving them exposed with most borders remaining closed across Asia.
