Hoseasons adds capacity
Growing demand for last-minute holidays has prompted Hoseasons to add capacity to its 2010 programme.
The Hoseasons Group has added nearly 1500 extra units of accommodation to its 2010 Holiday Parks and Lodges programme.
The company says it has seen a 21% rise in sales of its UK Parks and Lodges holidays in August so far compared with the same period in 2009.
“In 2009 many British holidaymakers had their first experience of a UK holiday, and many are coming back for a second year, recognising the ability to simply ‘pack up and go’ at the last minute,†said Hoseasons operations director Pali Badwal.
“Alongside other well-reported problems such as volcanic ash, airline and airport strike threats, and three high-profile company collapses, this has presented travel agents with a great opportunity to build business by offering value-for-money holidays in the UK – and they have risen to this challenge magnificently.
“It’s great that we need to increase capacity at this stage of the seasons, and it is an indication that the renaissance in UK holidays is not a one-year ‘staycation’ phenomenon, but rather a trend which looks set to continue. This is in stark contrast to many overseas operators who are busy reducing their inventory due to falling demand.â€
