Hoseasons sees 13% rise in sales by agents
Hoseasons has seen like-for-like sales through travel agents up by 13% in the first four weeks of 2008.
The UK self-catering operator believes the swing comes as consumers look to UK breaks in response to concern over a potential economic downturn.
Business development director Pali Badwal said: “We are showing strong growth from agents throughout the UK regions.
“All types of agents are performing well, with The Co-operative Travel Trading Group up 26% on cottage bookings as well as the likes of Tui Travel and Thomas Cook also doing well on bookings for our lodge and parks programme.
“We know the key to this success is that travel agents are now beginning to recognise that the vast majority of the overseas customers will take at least one UK holiday each year.
“They know the business is out there and our product range represents good incremental earnings opportunities for agents.”
Hoseasons sales executives will be visiting more than 3,000 agents between January and March, providing them with regional offers, incentives and key selling tips.
