Allegiant started nonstop flights from Newport News, Va., to Orlando with prices starting as low as $51.99 one way. There will be four flights weekly. Purchases must be made by Nov. 30 for travel by May 15 of next year. A convenience fee of $17 per passenger is included in the introductory one-way fare. A fee of $14.99 per segment, will apply when purchased through Allegiant call centers. Purchases made at any Allegiant Airport Ticket Office will not incur a convenience or call center fee. There are also checked bag fees.

CLIA celebrates Black Friday

CLIA is offering a one-day online only “Black Friday” travel agency membership offer. “Travel agencies looking to become a new CLIA member on November 25 will receive 13 months of benefits as an association member – through December 2012 – and have their one-time application fee waived,” the organization says. The sale price is $319 for agencies. The one-time application fee regularly priced at $80 is waived for new memberships processed online and new travel agency members who join will receive a Bonus Commission Coupon book with up to $5,000 in commission opportunities.
