Hotel chains betting on Asia-Pacific recovery
Global hotel chains are fast-tracking expansion plans across Asia-Pacific, betting on the post-pandemic recovery. Hilton, Shangri-La, Dusit and others are pushing ahead with new developments across the region.
“We’re seeing all segments rapidly recovering in Asia Pacific,” says Christopher Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton. It opened a record 100 new hotels across the region in 2021. It recently opened Hilton Singapore Orchard, its largest hotel in the region with over 1,000 rooms.
Shangri-La launched four new hotels in the last six months, including three in China.
