Hotel flooded for third time this month
Staff at the Glendridding Hotel in Cumbria have vowed to ‘smile and carry on’ after heavy rain again caused flooding in the region for the third time in three weeks.
Appleby, Keswick, Kendal and Glenridding were the worst hit areas after rivers burst their banks during torrential rain.
The staff posted pictures on Facebook showing the deluged hotel in Ullswater, saying they all felt ‘deflated’.
The Facebook post said: "The beck is overflowing once again past the bridge and the what was Ratchers Bar and the kitchen is flooding.
"Contractors are in trying to save their equipment. Fire brigade are on their way to help pump out the water we are currently at around 2ft of water.
"We just need to smile and carry on."
Conditions have now eased, but yellow warnings are in place for rain throughout the region for Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
