Hotel service fees continue to rise
Hotel fees continue to be on the rise, reports PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
The US lodging industry this year will generate $1.6 billion in fees and surcharges, which is 7% more than in 2005.
The lodging industry reporting company forecast about half of the increase will stem from a 3.1% increase in occupied rooms this year.
The remaining percentage of the increase will come from fees and surcharges.
“This will be the lowest rate of increase since 2002, indicating that the number of hotels charging fees and surcharges and the amounts charged is stabilizing,” said the report.
