Hotel trade group appoints government affairs chief
Trade group the American Hotel & Lodging Association has named Brian Crawford as senior VP and head of governmental affairs.
It is a promotion for Crawford who has been AH&LA’s VP of governmental and political affairs since 2014.
He will lead the organization’s 10-person team in advocacy efforts in Washington DC and oversee its political action committee, HotelPAC.
"Brian has been core to our advocacy wins on key federal and local issues such as joint employer and hotel-only workforce ordinances, while also spearheading a number of employer coalitions here in Washington," said Katherine Lugar, president and CEO of the AH&LA.
"I am excited and confident that Brian will build on the momentum we’ve created in the last several years and lead our advocacy program to new heights."
Crawford is well versed in the machinations on Capitol Hill having previously served as chief of staff for Congressman Tom Rooney and deputy chief of staff for Congressman Ric Keller.
He also worked in legislative affairs for Associated Builders and Contractors.
"I am honored and excited for the opportunity to lead such an extraordinary team," Crawford said in a release.
