HotelClub Acts Globally and Thinks Locally

SYDNEY 12 May 2003: Australian owned, global accommodation provider, HotelClub has launched a new localised website www.HotelClub.com.au. The site will offer the availability of 5000 hotels – at savings of up to 60% – in 34 countries and 700 cities worldwide, like hotelclub.net did. However, information will be heavily customised with local information tailored specifically for the Australian market.

HotelClub is Australia’s largest online accommodation provider and attracts over 1.5 million unique visitors per month. The launch of HotelClub.com.au follows the company’s move to deepen HotelClub’s appeal in local markets around the globe including France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Spain The United Kingdom and The United States.

We want to provide consumers all over the world with the opportunity to surf, book, receive updates and newsletters, voice their opinions, submit travel tips and tales in the comfort of their own language”.

HotelClub’s extensive multilingual capabilities have enabled it to reach new markets and differentiate it from its competitors. In January 2003, HotelClub saw an increase of 320% on last year’s sales volume, raising the monthly sales to the $9 million mark. From July 2002 to January 2003, bookings made in German, French and Chinese experienced double-digit growth (month by month). During December 2002 and Jan 2003 bookings through each grew 41%, 23% and 50% respectively.
