HotelClub launches American operations

BALTIMORE 13 June 2003: HotelClub (http://www.hotelclub.net), the world-leading full service provider of online hotel reservation services, has commenced operations in the United States. This development comes as a result of the site’s continued growth in the North American market, which now accounts for 15 per cent of all HotelClub customers.

HotelClub is the leading online accommodation provider in Asia Pacific and a major player in European markets – with an established network of ten offices around the world including the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

HotelClub features 6,000 hotels in 36 countries, and represents hotels across 30 cities in the United States. HotelClub provides its users with access to both planned and last minute bookings on one website. The last minute service provides consumers the ability book hotels up to 20 days before their check in dates. This provides hotels with another channel to distribute their distressed inventory and still retain full control over the rates.

“HotelClub has established itself as a major website in both the Europe and Asia Pacific markets. Over the past eight years we have consistently experienced up to 500 per cent annual growth despite industry downturns” said Ms Chloe Lim, Director of Marketing.

“We view North America as vital to our continued success. We are in the process of establishing partnership arrangements with American based hotels, travel agents and distribution networks, and have already secured hotels including Ian Schrager Hotels, South Beach Hotel Group, South Seas Hotels and Outrigger Resorts” Ms Lim.

“HotelClub has opened up opportunities to our company in new markets, increasing our exposure, without additional expenses and with great success” Ms Maria Elena Kaldani – Global Director of Leisure Sales – Ian Schrager Hotels.

The HotelClub site is currently available in seven languages including Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish and receives in excess of 1.5 million unique visitors each month.

Please contact Mr Ken Frohling – Director of Operations North America – for all hotel related enquiries.
