Blind & Low Vision Showdown at the Australian Open 2026 gets the support of HotelPlanner
Blind and Low Vision Tennis refers to adaptations of the traditional game so people who are blind or have limited sight can play, watch, and enjoy tennis. To adapt tennis to visually-impaired tennis players, several initiatives and formats have been developed such as the use sound-enhanced balls, tactile court markings, or modified equipment to help players track and hit the ball using sound and touch.
Visually-impaired tennis is meanwhile split into 4 categories from B1 (those with no sight) to B4 (those who have a low level of vision). Each category has varying degrees of adaptation.
