HotelREZ plans US expansion

WTM Special Report: New entrant hotel representation and sales and marketing company HotelREZ is poised to break into the US.

The UK-based firm has signed up almost 700 properties since being established 18 months ago with a mix across Europe and South Asia.

Offices have been opened in Rome, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Bangalore and Delhi as HotelRES expands its offering of distribution and sales and marketing services.

Managing director Mark Lewis, whose background includes Pegasus and Utell, told TravelMole that the company was growing by virtue of references and planned to open a US office to service properties in North America.

Conceding that while a company such as his faced a lot of competition from US-based representation organisations, there was an opportunity to offer an “international mind-set”.

Speaking at World Travel Market, he said: “This helps because hotels want to get more business from Europe and Asia but are dealing with US-centric companies.

“We are finalising opportunities in key cities and are in the process of opening an ofice in the US.

“We have to offer a structure globally to support the business wherever it is necessary because we need people locally to look after the hotels.”
