Howdee, partner. Watson in new challenge
Former Travel Counsellors Australia general manager, Peter Watson, has joined Travel Partners in a business development role.
Based in Melbourne, he will have specific responsibility for professional travel agent recruitment.
Travel Partners is aiming to recruit 100 partners within its first year of operation.
Watson led the development and launch of the original Jetset Travel franchise and then created, developed and launched the NAITA network for Jetset.
He was also CEO of ATAC for more than four years and part of the management group that merged National World Travel, Travelworld and ATAC into the fledging Travelworld Group which ultimately evolved into the Jetset Travelworld Group.
He spent three years as general manager of the Concorde Agency Network before taking the helm at Travel Counsellors and successfully launching the company’s Australian mobile travel consultancy business in 2007.
Travel Partners managing partner Jeff Hakim described the appointment as a “tremendous coupâ€.
“Peter Watson needs no introduction – his record speaks for itself,†Hakim said.
