Huka Lodge awarded No 1 by Travel and Leisure
New Zealand’s Huka Lodge, Taupo has just been awarded the accolade of Number 1 of the Top 25 Hotels in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific by Travel + Leisure magazine as part of their annual World’s Best Awards 2006.
Huka Lodge has enjoyed a high level of recognition via international awards this year, commencing in January with No. 1 ranking in Australasia and South Pacific for ‘Best Hotels for Rooms’ by Condé Nast Traveller as well as appearing as the only New Zealand property worthy of mention in Travel + Leisure magazine’s prestigious ‘Top 500 list.’
In May the Robb Report named Huka Lodge as one of the world’s ‘Top 100’ Luxury Resorts and June brought recognition with first place for ‘World’s Best Service’ within the Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific region.
This latest award for Huka Lodge has been achieved with a score of 89.78% out of a possible 100% and certainly is testament to why Huka Lodge has long been considered to be one of the worlds’s best-kept travel secrets.
Huka Lodge is the vision of owner Alex van Heeren and currently has two other sister properties, Dolphin Island, Fiji and Grande Provence Estate in South Africa. Grande Provence has recently been tipped to follow the family tradition with The Owner’s Cottage having already been chosen to appear in the Condé Nast Traveller ‘Hotlist’ for 2006.
