Iberostar announces first US hotels in NYC, Miami

Iberostar Hotels & Resorts will make its US debut next month with the first of two hotel openings.
 
The Spanish hospitality firm is opening its first property In New York on June 15, followed by the Iberostar Berkeley in Miami in December.
 
"Here at Grupo Iberostar, we are extremely excited to launch a new hotel in New York, one of the most vibrant cities in the world. This new hotel is the perfect way to mark our entrance into the US market," Grupo Iberostar CEO America Jose Antonio Gonzalez said in a release. 
 
"This property will be a valued addition to our portfolio by our current customers and will also allow us to reach a new audience in the US market."
 
The Manhattan four-star boutique property will feature 205 rooms and several food and beverage outlets.
 
Situated at 70 Park Avenue, it is housed in a refurbished 1920s building.
 
Later in the year Iberostar Berkeley will open in Miami’s South Beach in a renovated 1940’s Art Deco building with 96 guest rooms.
 
 
The Iberostar brand is familiar with US travelers with a strong presence in the Caribbean region and Mexico, including the Dominican Republic and Cuba.
 
It currently operates more than 100 hotels in 16 countries.
