Ickenham Travel ventures further online
Independent agency Ickenham Travel has made a further step online with the creation of an “online tour operation”.
The company, which recently launched online self-booking business travel system Blueprint, has now develolped a web-based leisure travel arm.
The holiday site – www.letsgo2.com – provides customer with the ability to tailor-make breaks.
Holidays can be dynamically packaged with access to the latest airline and hotel rates.
With bookings also taken by telephone, Ickenham claims letsgo2 provides a combination of flexibility and the ability to speak to a reservations agent to finalise the booking process.
Holiday prices are automatically calculated to take into account any special offers. Customers can also create a range of holiday choices and compare them before completing their booking.
Destinations are initially limited to city breaks in Prague, Budapest, Las Vegas and New York, to be followed by Barcelona and Tallin and other US cities.
A long haul section is to be added covering the Caribbean, Middle East and Mauritius and the Maldives.
Letsgo2 general manager Edward Laycock anticipated that 90% of bookings will be for clients who have created their own unique holiday online.
He said: “We have paid particular attention to making the site asy to use and we have also made a commitment to providing as much information as possible about the destination and accommodation to enable customers to make informed choices.”
