IHG announces new MD for Australasia and Japan
Global hospitality firm InterContinental Hotels Group has named Leanne Harwood as managing director, Australasia and Japan.
Harwood takes over from Karin Sheppard who relocates to London to take on the new role of IHG’s managing director, Europe.
In this new position Harwood will oversee regional teams based in Sydney and Tokyo.
Harwood was most recently Bangkok-based operations VP for South East Asia and Korea where she oversaw operations at more than 60 hotels across Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Korea.
She also gained hospitality industry experience at a number of hotel companies in Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam and French Polynesia during a 20 year career, which includes a decade at IHG.
