IHG appoints new COO for Asia Pacific
SYDNEY – Bruce McKenzie has been appointed chief operating officer for IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) in Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific (ANZSP).
Most recently regional senior vice president, operations for IHG Greater China, Australian national McKenzie has returned home to take up the regional COO role.
He replaces Keith Barr, who has relocated to Shanghai as COO, Greater China after three years overseeing ANZSP.
Prior to joining IHG, McKenzie served as director of operations for Mirvac Hotels; vice president Asia Pacific for Choice Hotels International; and managing director, Indonesia, for Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
As regional chief operating officer, he will oversee the operations of IHG’s more than 50 InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels across Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific.
