IHG debuts wellness brand with two properties in Manhattan

Holiday Inn parent InterContinental Hotels Group has signed its first two EVEN Hotels properties, both in New York.

The second Even hotel, announced this week, will be built at 321 West 35th Street in midtown Manhattan. It will open in mid-2015.

It will have 150 guestrooms on 25 floors, flexible public workspaces, dining and social areas, and a state-of-the-art three-zone gym.

Launched in 2012 after extensive guest research, the EVEN Hotels brand is a "lifestyle hotel brand focused on the wellness space," IHG says.

Its goal is "to meet travelers’ holistic wellness needs" through four components—Keep Active, Rest Easy, Eat Well, and Accomplish More—all under one roof and at a mainstream price point.

The other EVEN hotel will be located at 219 East 44th Street.

The brand is expected to be a key pillar in IHG’s portfolio of brands and eventually, a key driver of market share growth in the United States, the company said. More EVEN Hotels are planned in key markets including Washington D.C. and San Francisco.
