IHG introducing first Hotel Indigo to Adelaide
IHG’s latest hotel signing in Australia will see the debut of the Hotel Indigo brand in Adelaide.
The sixteen-storey Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets will rise on Market Street and set to open in 2020 in partnership with Primefield Property Pty Ltd.
It becomes the sixth Hotel Indigo in Australasia after Brisbane Fortitude Valley, Melbourne Docklands, Sydney Central, Melbourne Little Collins Street and Auckland.
Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets will have 137 rooms which promise to showcase the near 150-year history of Adelaide Central Market with distinctive interior design.
The hotel will also have meeting space, a gym and swimming pool with sun deck.
"Australia loves the Adelaide Central Markets, and for good reason. It’s a local destination that has developed its own distinct identity and culture, so we know that visitors will love a hotel that can capture that essence and deliver a unique experience," said Abhijay Sandilya, IHG’s senior director of development for Australasia.
"Hotel Indigo will complement IHG’s existing Holiday Inn Express, InterContinental and soon-to-open Crowne Plaza, giving travellers options to cater to every stay."
Located in the heart of Adelaide’s square mile, the hotel offers easy access to Chinatown, restaurants, shopping and is just 6km from Adelaide Airport.
No two Hotel Indigo properties are the same with each offering unique facets of the local area, from art to heritage, food and lifestyle.
We are thrilled to partner with IHG, to bring the Hotel Indigo brand to Adelaide. We are confident that it will be a strong performing hotel that will be loved by locals and visitors alike," said Nick Lee, director at development partner Primefield Property Pty Ltd.
