IHG signs agreement to manage Saipan resort
Global hotel group IHG is adding to its portfolio in the Pacific.
It signed a management agreement with Asia Pacific Hotels Inc to take over Fiesta Resort & Spa in Saipan.
It takes over the 416-room hotel this month which will be eventually rebranded to the Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan in 2022.
It follows an announcement last year of IHG’s contract agreement to take over sister hotel Fiesta Resort Guam.
That will also become a Crowne Plaza in 2021.
Combined, it becomes the largest conversion project for IHG in the Australasia, Japan and Pacific Islands region.
Saipan is just 20 minutes by plane from Guam and is the largest island in the Northern Mariana Islands which is part of the US commonwealth.
Fiesta Resort Saipan has a 500 metre beach front and features six dining venues, a club lounge, several swimming pools, meeting space and a fitness centre.
