Imelda’s place now available for the well-heeled
A space that former Philippine first couple Ferdinand and shoe queen Imelda Marcos created to accommodate the rich and famous is taking on a new life.
At 6,200 square feet, The Imperial Residence on the 11th floor of Sofitel Philippine Plaza includes a collection of five spacious suites can be book separately or as a whole.
The latter choice comes with the option to have any room converted into a customised special-purpose area, such as a gym, office, spa, yoga studio or video game den.
Perhaps even a shoe room.
“We tried to envisage the most chic, most coveted, most remarkable residence we could,” said Goran Aleks, Sofitel Philippine Plaza’s general manager.
“The kind of place you dream about long after you’ve finished sleeping in it. This is what we came up with.”
Master bedroom features include ensuite bath with central therapeutic tub, Japanese bidet, multi-shower system with color therapy, 50-inch flat-screen TV, Bose surround sound speakers and Hermes amenities.
There is also direct helicopter landing pad access.
“If you’re going to pay $10,000 per night, you’re going to know what it’s like to be treated like royalty,” said Aleks. “This space is like nothing else in the Philippines.”
