Indi operators see rise in sales
Independent tour operators say they saw an 11% increase in sales through the All Stars incentive scheme for AITO Specialist Travel Agents last month compared with January 2010.
AITO said the small sample of sales was an indication that the independent sector was picking up.
Specialist Travel Agents chairman Oliver Broad said; “This news is a fantastic start to 2011, demonstrating the success of AITO Agents and the All Stars incentive scheme, both in terms of working through difficult economic times and also strengthening their businesses."
The incentive scheme rewards agents for booking AITO holidays. Those with the most bookings win monthly prizes and annual awards.
Over 30 AITO tour operators have signed up for the incentive scheme in 2011.
