India in style………….
Icon Holidays has decided the Australian market is ready for a sophisticated FIT program in India and has just released a new “India in Style” brochure.
In just a couple of years Icon has established a name in the travel industry for developing the quality end of the market with its range of itineraries in Egypt, Greece, Turkey and other key destinations.
The co-founder of Icon, Tim Hakins said, “Customer demand had led to the introduction of our Indian product with Icon determining that in many parts of India, the hotels are ‘mini-destinations’ in their own right, where our clients can have some respite each day from what can be a wonderfully tumultuous and exhausting travel experience.”
“We have personally inspected every property in our brochure, and we have chosen only those which we know will be appreciated by our clients.”
“The concept of Palace and Fort hotels only goes so far, with many such properties not being up to the standard we would like, so we have applied a very rigorous approach to our selection.”
“Clients can be assured that we will provide them with the best that India has to offer.”
Hakins said that most wholesalers dealing in India provide pre-packaged itineraries, but Icon has decided to break the mould and help its clients to put together a fully escorted private itinerary.
He added, “We will enable clients to see and do what they really want rather than be encouraged to do what the wholesaler wants.”
Icon provides all its clients with recommended restaurants in every city they visit. Hakins comment, “We believe that our client’s health is best served by providing top-class dining. All Icon products include breakfast and local taxes in the total costing”.
Hakins’ partner Simon Hills, who has travelled to India 19 times and is the Consul-General for Nepal in Victoria, said that his most recent visit to India “was entirely focused on product selection, and between us we have produced what we believe is a superb product for the Australian market.”
Hills added, “From the beaches of Southern India to the Himalayan foothills, and from the Ganges delta to the Arabian Sea, Icon is able to build itineraries focused on quality products which match your client’s expectations.”
“Brilliant hotels including a balance of neo-colonial properties, spectacular converted forts, sumptuous palaces, private transfers and private touring underpin the program.”
“Icon’s program is designed to provide a basic core of product around which clients are able to build an itinerary which best suits their needs.”
