IndiGo seals deal for Airbus A350 jets
India’s largest carrier IndiGo is adding more planes to its ever-growing fleet.
It has inked an order for 30 Airbus A350 long-range jets, a first for the airline.
The order is valued at $9.5 billion based on list prices.
It includes an option to buy an additional 70 A350 jets.
Deliveries will start from 2027.
It marks a shift to expand into long haul markets.
Airbus says the deal is ‘an exciting new chapter in our close partnership with IndiGo.’
IndiGo carries around 100 million passengers annually, mostly on domestic and mid haul routes to central and Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
Last year IndiGo signed a record Airbus aircraft order for 500 A320neo series.
