IndiGo signals intent to restart China flights
IndiGo is keen to restart flights from India to China, potentially as soon new bilateral agreements can be reached, it says.
The airline hasn’t operated China flights since the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The airline stands ready to resume these services as soon as bilateral arrangements between the two countries allow. IndiGo remains committed to identifying and pursuing commercially viable opportunities,” IndiGo CEO Pieters Elbers said.
The carrier previously flew daily from Delhi and from Bengaluru to Hong Kong until early 2020.
The routes were not resumed after the pandemic due to the countries’ ongoing frosty diplomatic and economic relationship.
As yet, Air India has not signaled whether it plans to fly again to China in the near future.
