IndiGo surpasses 100 million passenger milestone
IndiGo ended the year as the first Indian airline to carry 100 million passengers in a year.
It ended 2023 by flying just over 104 million.
The vast majority were domestic fliers at 90 million while 14.2 million took international flights.
The airline recently reached another milestone, with 2,000 flights a day.
Overall, the India aviation market had its busiest year for domestic air travel ever.
The airline remains the market leader in the country by far, well ahead of Air India and its affiliated airline brands.
IndiGo launched several new international routes in 2023 including Tashkent and Baku.
Overall, IndiGo’s passenger traffic is up 34% from pre-pandemic 2019 levels.
