IndoChine Group on expansion spree

SINGAPORE – Singapore-based IndoChine Group continues its reach overseas with the launch of new venues in New Delhi and a second venue in Kuala Lumpur next month.

As part of its global expansion the Group will also break into the Middle Eastern market with another venue set to open in Dubai early next year.

However IndoChine’s biggest advancement will be its first foray into the resort and hotel development with The Reef in Phuket, Thailand, due for completion later next year. This will be a fully-fledged 140-room resort facing the beachfront of Patong Beach, inspired by the natural modular form of a coral reef.

When asked why Phuket after the devastating Boxing Day tsunami Michael Ma, IndoChine Group’s Chief Executive Officer and Founder, explains, “Basically it comes down to the potential we saw in the resurgence and rising level of interest in the Phuket area. Surprisingly, people are not deterred. If anything, they are proud to contribute to the rebuilding of Thailand’s economy through tourism.”
