Indonesia AirAsia resuming flight operations
Indonesia AirAsia is the next regional affiliate in the budget airline group to restart flights.
It resumes operations on June 19 as movement restrictions in Indonesia begin to ease.
Flights will be resumed gradually with limited routes operating initially on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
These include Jakarta to Bali and Medan.
AirAsia units in Malaysia, India and Thailand have already resumed operations although like in Indonesia, no international flights have been approved by the respected authorities due to continued border closures.
AirAsia has unveiled a raft of new health protocols for passengers which includes a strict limit of just one piece off cabin baggage and all food has to be ordered at least 24 hours before departure.
There is free checked baggage for domestic flights.
All air travellers will undergo temperature screening and must wear face masks.
Our entire staff, including pilots and cabin crew, have undergone intensive safety procedure training that will be updated depending on the latest policies as we’re preparing to resume operations," said AirAsia safety and security director Achmad Sadikin.
Travellers must show negative Covid-19 rapid or PCR test results prior to check in.
