Indonesia tourism mart returns to Jakarta

Indonesia’s annual travel mart is making a timely return to the nation’s capital after several years being held in the regions.

Tourism Indonesia Mart & Expo (TIME) returns to Jakarta after 11 years on 13 – 16 October 2015.

This year’s theme is ‘The Role of Tourism in Stimulating the National Economy: Challenges and Opportunities for Maritime Tourism towards ASEAN Economic Community’ and takes place at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Jakarta.

"We are excited Jakarta will host TIME this year.  We encourage buyers worldwide and sellers from various provinces in Indonesia to take part in this annual Indonesian travel trade tourism event," said TIME chairperson Meity Robot.

The Indonesian Tourism Ministry recently said it is on track to reach its target of 10 million foreign tourists this year and aims to increase that to 20 million by 2019.

"Tourism Indonesia Mart & Expo reflects our commitment to support the Indonesian tourism industry and at the same time maintain the country’s image to the international market," said Indonesia Tourism Promotion Board chairperson Yanti Sukamdani.

The event is also being supported by Garuda Indonesia as the official airline, the Association of the Indonesian Tours & Travel Agencies (ASITA), the Indonesia Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) and the Indonesian Conference and Convention Association (INCCA).

TIME is recognised as a major B2B market place for Indonesian tourism operators to showcase products to international buyers.

TIME was held last year in Banda Aceh and attracted 60 buyers from 18 countries including Malaysia, Singapore, the Netherlands and Bangladesh.
