Inghams parent acquired by German travel giant
Hotelplan Group and four of its UK based brands have been acquired by Dertour Group.
Owner Migros agreed the sale for an undisclosed sum and sees Hotelplan Suisse, Hotelplan Volume Tour Operating, Hotelplan U.K. and Hotelplan Business Travel join Dertour Group, a major player in the European market.
It includes UK brands Inghams, Explore Worldwide, Inntravel and Santa’s Lapland.
They join other familiar travel brands like Kuoni, CV Villas, Jules Verne and Kirker Holidays under Dertour Group ownership.
Dertour operates more than 130 businesses.
“After a thorough process, we are pleased that The Dertour Group has been confirmed as the new owner of Hotelplan Group, including our UK-based brands,” Hotelplan UK CEO, Joe Ponte said.
“We’re confident that our specialist brands, products and people will continue to flourish under this new ownership.”
Hotelplan’s holiday home platform Interhome was acquired separately by the HomeToGo Group.
Hotelplan staff will be transferred to the new owners and there will be no impact to existing customer bookings or any immediate changes at any of the acquired travel brands.
“We are delighted to take over the Hotelplan Group with its strong collection of travel brands and lead them to further growth in our tourism network,” said Ingo Burmester, CEO of Dertour Central Europe.
