Injured waterslide cruise guest to sue Royal Caribbean
A cruise ship guest injured on a shipboard water slide plans to sue Royal Caribbean.
The man was injured on the Frightening Bolt water slide on the Icon of the Seas after the slide’s acrylic glass broke mid-ride.
A sharp edge ‘sliced open’ his leg according to media reports.
“Our team provided medical care to an adult guest when acrylic glass broke off a water slide as the guest passed through the slide,” the cruise line said.
The slide remains closed ‘pending an investigation.
Video footage just after the incident showed water cascading down onto the deck through the broken section of the slide.
The man’s attorney, Alex Perez confirmed his client plans to seek damages.
